Birthday Girl (2019)
A lonely girl tries to find solace in a world of internet trolls, corporate drudgery and quirky food habits.
The following post contains screenshots from the film, and details of the design & production process.

As part of the 3rd semester project at National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, we were required to make a short film (of minimum 8 minutes). I roughly had about a week for the pre-production process - scripting, storyboarding, casting, location recce, production design etc, and about 3 days for the shoot.
I started with the idea of a lonely girl who is waiting for someone to wish her birthday, and has a quirk of drinking Amul Masti, a peculiar name for a Buttermilk brand; the treatment eventually developed into one with minimal dialogues, which appear off-kilter in a precise but whimsical world.
