Last summer (2013) I had a spare canvas with me. So, I got it framed on a wooden skeleton. I derived a sketch from a photograph, and used a regular graphite pencil to detail out everything, which in retrospect was a naive decision, as it spoiled the canvas during coloring.
I took up coloring, shape by shape, which again was a bad decision. It probably would have been better if I had a coat by coat approach, which would have provided better depth and ease of movement. Another important lesson.
After putting in nearly 30 man hours into the project, detailing out each and every fold and jewel, it turned out to be a decent affair. I had imagined to fill something in the space at the left, but painted it black due to time contraints.
